As we move through spring, we will prepare our soil and garden spaces for the unique conditions of Florida's summer, choosing plants that thrive abundantly in our hot rainy season. This 6-part series will provide guidance, experiential learning, and take-home resources for you, our 'growing' farm and gardening community. Each week will be a standalone class, while the full series will be a joyful and deeply immersive journey to prepare participants for awesome summer gardening!
In our fourth workshop of the series, participants will be taken on a journey through the life cycles of plants, which teach us everything we need to know about how Nature grows soil—and thus, food. For billions of years, not one shovel, garden hose, bag of fertilizer or potting mix was used—and yet, the Earth was covered with the most vast forest and jungles ever known. How is this possible?!
After 12 years of substantial farming and gardening, workshop host Zeff still has not bought a single bag of soil, fertilizer, pesticide or soil amendment. Learn how to garden in a true "grow your own" fashion, following the principles of Nature.
