As we move through spring, we will prepare our soil and garden spaces for the unique conditions of Florida's summer, choosing plants that thrive abundantly in our hot rainy season. This 6-part series will provide guidance, experiential learning, and take-home resources for you, our 'growing' farm and gardening community. Each week will be a standalone class, while the full series will be a joyful and deeply immersive journey to prepare participants for awesome summer gardening!
Our final workshop of the series will be an exciting experience of some of Nature's magic cheat codes: Grafting and Air-Layering. More specifically, grafting according to the moon and tidal positioning. These techniques allow you to clone trees that may never otherwise reproduce and exponentially grow food abundance.
Did you know you can "glue" an old tree onto a young tree, allowing it to produce the exact fruit variety of your choice years ahead of its time? You can even grow multiple varieties of fruit on one tree!!
We will also cover practical pruning techniques for effective end-of-summer garden maintenance.
The first 15 registered participants will leave with a grafted tree.
