Topic Description:

Hormonal health refers to the delicate balance of chemical messengers that regulate nearly every bodily function, from metabolism and immune responses to reproduction and mood. Produced by endocrine glands, hormones like cortisol, estrogen, testosterone, and thyroid hormones act as the body’s communication network, ensuring systems such as growth, stress adaptation, and cellular repair operate harmoniously.

Even minor imbalances-whether due to stress, aging, or medical conditions-can disrupt this equilibrium, leading to symptoms like fatigue, weight fluctuations, and immune dysfunction. Crucially, hormones interact bidirectionally with the immune system and gut health: cortisol from chronic stress may impair gut barrier integrity, while estrogen enhances immune cell activity, highlighting the interconnectedness of these systems.

Maintaining hormonal balance is thus foundational to overall wellness, as it influences not only physical health but also resilience against infections, autoimmune conditions, and metabolic disorders.

In this brunch discussion, we will address the following:

-  What are hormones and what system are they part of (adrenal, brain, and sex, including cortisol, serotonin, dopamine, estrogen, testosterone, progesterone)?

-  What role do hormones play in the body and at various stages of life?

-  What are Common Myths around hormones?

-  What are signs of hormonal dysregulation?

-  What are hormone disrupters in our environment and in our bodies?

- How do you balance and optimize hormones using plants, herbs, and natural methods?
