Beyond the Plate: What to Expect at a Community Dinner at 15th Street Farm

Community Dinners

At 15th Street Farm, we do things a little differently. We’re not a restaurant. We’re not a catering hall. We’re a working urban farm and nonprofit in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg—and when you join us for a community dinner, you’re stepping into something much more meaningful than just a meal.

Dining With a Purpose

Our founder, Emmanuel Roux, often says this isn’t just dining—it’s dining with a purpose. These dinners help sustain the mission of 15th Street Farm: connecting people to their food, their health, and each other. Every ticket purchased supports our nonprofit work, including school gardens, food access programs, cooking classes, and more.

A Different Kind of Experience

So, what can you expect when you attend a community dinner at the farm?

  • Long Table, Family Style: You won’t find menus or private tables. Everyone eats the same seasonal, chef-prepared meal, served family-style at a long communal table. It’s about sharing—not just the food, but stories, laughter, and connection.

  • No On-Site Payments: We believe in creating a seamless, welcoming experience. That’s why you reserve your seat ahead of time. Tips are included in your ticket price, and your contribution may even be tax-deductible (but please check with your tax professional).

  • A Warm Welcome: When you arrive, you’ll check in and are invited to take a self-guided stroll through the gardens. Walk the rows, breathe in the fresh air, snap a few photos. It’s your time to slow down and soak in the beauty of the land.

Garden-Grown Meets Chef-Crafted

Most of the ingredients we serve are harvested right here at 15th Street Farm. When something isn’t grown on-site, we thoughtfully source it from trusted partners who share our values—always keeping freshness, quality, and sustainability at the heart of every meal. Our chefs—including our Head Chef Zachary Crossman—bring their diverse global expertise to each plate, blending fine dining techniques with rustic farm charm.

The result? High-end, beautifully presented meals made with love and intention, using ingredients grown right here on the land. It’s farm-to-table in its truest, most flavorful form.

Why We Gather This Way

In Emmanuel’s words, this is about returning to a time when people gathered around the food—while it was being prepared—not just for it. It’s about community over convenience. We take breaks between courses. We chat. We listen. We get to know the stranger seated beside us, and in doing so, we create something rare and beautiful: true connection.

Join Us at the Table

So if you’re looking for a dining experience that feeds more than your hunger—if you’re seeking something nourishing for the body, the heart, and the community—join us at 15th Street Farm.
