Abundant Summer Gardens — Growing with the Seasons Workshop Series PART #2: How to Cultivate Living Soil

As we move through spring, we will prepare our soil and garden spaces for the unique conditions of Florida's summer, choosing plants that thrive abundantly in our hot rainy season. This 6-part series will provide guidance, experiential learning, and take-home resources for you, our 'growing' farm and gardening community. Each week will be a standalone class, while the full series will be a joyful and deeply immersive journey to prepare participants for awesome summer gardening!

In this second workshop of the series, we will go beyond N-P-K, focusing on the billions of life-forms in healthy compost and soil, and how to responsibly care for this most precious ecosystem beneath our feet.

You are what you eat, eats. An abundant garden fundamentally requires living soil. For this workshop we will focus on the billions of life-forms in compost and healthy soil, and how to responsibly care for this most precious ecosystem beneath our feet.

When the soil is vibrantly healthy and alive, vibrantly healthy plants (and people!) are an almost effortless by-product.

Utilizing our farm microscope, participants will have the opportunity to witness the microscopic living world within a variety of soil samples, from farms and from forests. You can even bring a soil sample from your garden!
